We practice storytelling to craft intentional narratives that uplift community dignity and promote equity and justice in our organization, region, and national food system.

As long-time members of this community, our approach is relational and respectful. We gather regional foodways stories from the past and present in an effort to understand our literal place in the world, to name and reconcile past harms, and to envision a collective path towards life-affirming food systems. We host the Chihuahuan Desert Cultural Fellowship.

Across the Paso del Norte region, you might find some of our staff facilitating story-gathering sessions, digging through historical archives, and working with local artists to tell local stories and increase our shared understanding of food policies, as well as educating funders and supporters about our regional and national efforts. We are also claiming digital space for food justice on our website, blog, and on social media.
