2025 Farmer Fellowship – Call for Applications
La Semilla Community Farm invites applications for the 2025 Farmer Fellowship, “Improving Climate Resilience in the Chihuahuan Desert.” This program is a paid apprenticeship that offers a mixture of hands-on and collaborative learning using the farm as both a space for healing and an open classroom where various systems intertwine in a holistic dynamic. This is a great opportunity for beginning and aspiring farmers with some growing experience. The Farmer Fellows will gain farming experience at small-scale farms across the region by assisting Farmer Mentors in all aspects of their farm’s operations, which includes production, habitat conservation, and community education. This apprenticeship will build the individual’s capacity for agroecological farm management through intensive hands-on experience as well as build their capacity to teach other beginning farmers.
This is a six-month long program. Apprentices will commit to 20 hours per week for a duration of the apprenticeship and will receive a subsistence allowance in the form of a monthly stipend of $1,600.00 per month. Selected applicants who accept the offer will commit to the program from February 17 to August 22.
To Apply: Submit this application by January 8, 2025 at 12:00PM (MST).
